John Textor has left the leadership of Lyon. The club announced that the American businessman and owner of the Eagle Football Group, which owns Lyon, has resigned from his leadership positions and left the board of directors.
Michelle Kang, who has been on the board since 2023 and is the club`s third-largest shareholder and majority owner of the women`s team, is the new president and chairman of the board of Lyon. Kang will lead the appeal process against the National Directorate of Control and Governance (DNCG) decision to relegate the club to Ligue 2 due to financial problems.
The club from soccer partners also announced the appointment of Michael Gerlinger, who was part of the Bavarian leadership from 2005 to 2023, to the post of general director.
