Osvaldo Ardiles spoke about filming the film with Pele and Sylvester Stallone.
- They lasted a month and a half in Budapest, and we had a great time. At the end of each day of filming, there was not much to do, and we devoted ourselves to talking about football in the so-called football rounds, which sometimes lasted until 3 am.
Of course, we all asked Pele many things, who told us many funny stories. It was delicious.
"I was in England and met all the requirements they asked for. World champion, small and skinny. The hero had to seem almost starving because [in the story] we were in a concentration camp.
- It was laid down in the script that after repulsing the penalty, which, by the way, I took, Stallone grabs the ball, passes all the Germans and scores a goal.
Then Bobby Moore and Pele said that it was impossible, because he did not even know how to handle the ball. It was Sunday and filming had to be completed at all costs, so the script was changed.
- In addition to the fact that we had a great time, the resonance was great. I worked as a coach in Japan for eight years, and they only talked to me about the film. I told them I was world champion but they always asked me the same question, " said the former Argentina midfielder and 1978 world champion.
