Oscar Piastri tested McLaren`s car in private tests.
According to Auto Hebdo, Piastri was spotted on November 2 and 3 at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet. During the races, Oscar was in McLaren overalls with sponsor logos covered.
Officially, McLaren did not report on the tests, nor did Alpin say that she was releasing Piastri from reserve pilot duties.
Do [the tests] mean that Alpin agreed to terminate the contract ahead of schedule? Hard to say. Whatever it was, it`s hard to imagine the races Oscar for McLaren, if there is no agreement between the three parties, writes Auto Hebdo.
Representatives of Alpin did not respond to a request from the French publication.
From next year, Piastri will be McLaren`s main driver and partner Lando Norris.
